TANYAK

Tanyak (Sanskrit word meaning resilient) is a social enterprise aiming to support development of resilient communities, infrastructure, technologies, businesses, cities and governance mechanisms.

Started informally in 2019, it took a formal shape of a registered Not for profit organisation in early 2020 and has become a trusted NGO, a partner of choice within a short span of time. Team TANYAK’s initial programs included nutritional support to children in urban slums, relief to violence and conflict affected communities in Delhi; food, health, essential relief to migrant workers post COVID19 Lockdown, and support to authorities in Delhi and UP with arrangement of safe transport of migrant workers, distribution of PPE, winter relief support for the poor.

Dr.K.K.Upadhyay, Professor, Birla Institute of Management Technology

Dr. K.K. Upadhyay comes with 39 years of experience across government, not-for-profits, academia and corporate. He has pioneered several innovative and outstanding social enterprises like Safal (Govt), Aapni Yojana (IIHMR), Bastar Integrated Development Program and Health of the Urban Poor for USAID. Dr. Upadhyay has been a pivotal part of the CSR journey in India as a thought leader, practitioner, and former head of the FICCI Aditya Birla CSR Centre for Excellence. Contributed to the sector through several publications and research studies for USAID, UNIFEM and IIED London. At present Dr. K.K. Upadhyay is Professor and Chairperson Centre for Sustainability and CSR at Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH).

Mr. Ram Kishan, Country Director- Plan International – Nepal

An accomplished professional with a background in Humanitarian and Development work, he holds a leadership position as the Country Director for Plan International in Nepal. His experience includes expertise in managing non-profit organizations, analyzing policies, writing proposals, building capacities, and advancing international development efforts. Ram has been representing regularly in Global humanitarian, DRR and Climate Forum and have been the on the Chairperson of Sphere India Coalition.

Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Engineering College & Research Centre, Jaipur

Dr. Fauzia holds PHD in Quality Management, Flexible Systems and Supply chain management. She has life membership of IAENG and ISTE, ISHARE and has organized and attended various Workshop and Faculty development programme of AICTE and NITTTR. She has been contributing philanthropically to number of social causes and is committed to the cause of inclusive and resilient societies. She has been presented with many awards including. “Women leadership award” by GLANTOR X and as a major contributor of ISHRAE Mumbai Chapter in 2017-18, patent awards and have published various research papers.

Mr. Sanjay Vashist

Sanjay Vashist is advising Climate & Resources Programme of Heinrich Böll Foundation in India since February 2009 and directing Climate Action Network in South Asia (CANSA). Prior to it he worked with TERI as Climate Change expert. He also worked as International Coordinator for Climate Action Network International (CANI) in Bonn, Germany coordinating the activities of ENGOs network also acting as focal point for ENGOs constituency of observers under UNFCCC. Academically he is a ‘Forester’ with Graduation and Post Graduation in Forestry from India. He completed his Master in Agro Forestry from Gujarat Agriculture University and Graduation in Forestry from Konkan Krishi Vidhyapeeth, Maharastra.

Mr. Aloysius Jayant Rego, Technical Advisor DPMM n SDGs

Mr. Rego is a seasoned leader and facilitator with a proven track record in the think tank sector, having worked with organizations such as Mainstreaming RSA Practitioners Network, Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), and National Safety Council of India. He is adept in areas related to Nonprofit Organizations and Governments, Sustainable Development, Emergency Management, Disaster Risk Reduction, Building Resilience, Industrial Safety and Corporate Social Responsibility. Possesses a wealth of experience, having worked for 40 years in India and the surrounding region, and holds degrees in Engineering, Technology, Law, and Industrial Safety.

Dr. Itinderpal Singh Bali

Dr. Itinderpal Singh Bali is a senior public health professional, a co-author, master trainer and a practicing Dental Surgeon based in Baramulla, J&K. As a member of the Indian Dental Association, he has been instrumental in organizing numerous oral check-up camps, significantly impacting the lives of around 3000 children in collaboration with Colgate India Ltd. Beyond dentistry, his commitment has extended to public health and promotion activities across India since 2005. He is associated with several notable government and non-government organizations, including the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), and the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), among others, highlighting his dedication to humanitarian causes. As a Senior Humanitarian Medical Professional, Dr. Bali has provided invaluable technical support in various emergencies, including the Kashmir earthquake in 2005 and the Nepal earthquake in 2015. His ability to navigate challenging situations and locations across India, working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, not only defines his career but also his essence as a devoted medical professional and humanitarian.

Dr Eilia Jafar, CEO DevLens

Dr. Eilia is a development and humanitarian professional with over 20 years of experience in Governance, Program Design, Strategic Partnerships, Quality and Accountability, Policy, Strategy, Research, and Organization Development including several international missions in South Asia. She has authored several academic papers on disaster management, business continuity management, quality, accountability, and gender in emergencies. She has worked with CARE, IFRC- South Asia and India Delegations, UNDP, and SaveLIFE Foundation. She is also serving as board member of several organisations. She is an internationally certified Life Coach and Executive Coach. Eilia is an alumnus of International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) of US State Department. She is the Co-Founder and Honorary Secretary and Treasurer of Tanyak Trust and initiatives.

Mr Vikrant Mahajan, CEO Sphere India

Vikrant is passionate humanitarian and resilience professional with 27 years of versatile professional experience with Government, UN, NGOs, Corporates, Academia, and the Armed Forces. He has been on the front line of most disasters in india and the region over last two decades. He has also been very active on global and national policy forums and represents on several inter-agency forums and boards of many organizations. He comes with a multi-disciplinary background in Engineering, Public Administration, Organizational Behavior, and Law. He is a Certified Project Management Professional from PMI, Black Belt Six Sigma, Master Trainer for CHS, Sphere, and is an experienced facilitator for consensus building. He is passionate about building multi-stakeholder collaborations for a larger impact and currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Sphere India . He is the Co-Founder and Honorary President of Tanyak Trusts and initiatives.
